Anna Bhagya rice seized, 158 quintal in custody

One of the good steps of government of Karnataka to provide rupee one per Kilogram of rice to the down trodden is now misused.

At Haveri the government Anna Bhagya' rice of 158 quintal was seized. Hanagal Tahasildar and police rounded the culprits in this case. Without license the cheap rate quality rice of 158 quintal was sold is the charges made.

In the branded bags the rice were filled for resale to higher prices. The owner of warehouse Iranna Malagi was arrested in this case. Rs.37 lakhs worth Anna Bhagya' rice was the estimation besides two vehicles were seized.

In addition to seizing of 158 quintal 1151 quintal of rice was also seized by Food and Civil Supplies department belonging to Swasthik, Kisan group of companies.
