Just like every other couple which didn't fit into the established societal norms, Milind Soman and Ankita Konwar also had to endure a lot of hate, trolling and negativity. The duo has age gap of 26 years which is why they had to face questioning and unacceptance for their relationship. However, the couple stuck close to each other and surpassed all the hurdles with ease.

Recently, Ankita opened up about this issue when a follower questioned about it on Instagram. The question was, "How did you tackle/ manage this Indian stereotype of “I don’t marry an older man?"

Ankita wrote, "Anything that’s not common in a society, people usually like to talk about it. It’s not just limited to India. We as a species have the tendency to get weird about the unknown, the unexpected, AKA fear."

She further added, "A survival skill. Sometimes, we are not conscious enough to distinguish between the utility and waste of that skill. I have always done what makes me happy." Milind Soman and Ankita Konwar tied the knot in 2018 after five years of dating.
