Crazy mass hero Ravi Teja has arrived with yet another entertainer and this time, he has paired up with his favorite heroine Nayantara. Slated to be a typical Ravi Teja type of movie, let us see how well it has been able to connect with the audience.

Story

Anjaneyulu (Ravi teja) is one man who has a big mouth, however he has a good heart and is a brave man too. He comes across Anjali (Nayantara) through an incident and falls in love with her instantly. Anjaneyulu works with a TV channel and he is the darling of his parents Murthy (Nasser) and Lakshmi (Vinaya). Even he loves them dearly but then he goes into sadness when both of them get killed in a bus accident after they come to see him. However, he discovers that this accident was intentional and it is due to the big and dreaded don Bada (Sonu) along with his gang of government officials and police. Anjaneyulu decides to teach them a lesson and how he does that forms the rest of the story.

Performances

Ravi Teja carried the film from start to end and his high energy levels and versatile performance really keep the mood of the movie up. Nayantara was present for the love track and songs but then she was not looking her stunning best in this one. Fault lied in her selection of hairstyle, costumes and even the heavy make up. Sonu Sood didn't have to perform much except for showing his muscles, Nasser was standard, Jayaprakash Reddy was effective, Brahmanandam was hilarious, Srinivas Reddy was neat, the others like MS, Brahmaji, Bhuvaneshwari, Kota, Tarzan, Raja Ravindra and others did their bit to contribute.

Technical aspects

The script has been written well and there were no notable flaws. The dialogues were superb with real wit and sensible meaning. Background score was good but the songs were not upto the mark this time. Screenplay was apt, editing was standard and the costumes, art department made their presence felt.

Director's portrayal

The director has handled the script very well and though the plot is repeated, he has conveyed it in the right mode. He could have focused a bit more on the technical side like cinematography but overall, he has done a decent job.

Critic's view

The film has it all to make it a pure commercial flick. There is romance, action, comedy, sentiment, melodrama in good proportions so the average Indian audience will not have much to complain about. The first half just flies off and it is during the second half when the story gets into a revenge, sentiment and melodrama mode. This will go down well with the mass audience and a good share of family audience as well so success is written over it, however the makers must push the movie further to gain more returns.

Verdict

Good, can be watched for entertainment

Released on : 12.08.09
