Telugu-Tamil bi-lingual 'Chitrangada' ('Yarni' in Tamil) is directed by Ashok of 'Pilla Jamindaru' fame. A "horizontal thriller-comedy", the makers have described it as a never-seen-before genre in India.

The news is that the bi-lingual, starring Anjali in the lead role, has been bought by the much-in-news Abhishek Pictures. With this, this December release has got a thorough booster shot.

"Anjali is donning a role she has never played in the past. The narration will constantly thrill the audience. It comes with a number of twists and turns. The premise pertains to how, due to some intangible forces, Chitrangada's life falls in danger. Anjali is playing the title role. She has sung a song and it will be a highlight. What all circumstances she has to wade through in her attempt to wriggle free, forms the crux. As demanded by the script, we shot the film in the US," the producers say.

High on Computer Graphics, this one is yet another heroine-oriented film for Anjali after 'Githanjali'. Sindhu Tulani, Sapthagiri and Raksha are part of the cast.

Music-directed by Selvaganeshan and Swaminathan. Editing is by Prawin Pudi. Cinematography is by Bal Reddy. Story, screenplay, dialogues and direction is by Ashok G.
