Anjaan
After delivering a super hit with his latest film ‘Singam II’ actor Suriya is back in action with ‘Anjaan’. For this film the versatile actor has joined hands with director Lingusamy who directed ‘Paiyya’ a blockbuster hit film that provided a strong hold for Suriya’s brother actor Karthi.
Director
Suriya and Lingusamy combination has created a lot of expectation. With Lingusamy himself saying that he is confident of striking gold with Suriya like his peer group filmmakers Hari and Gautham Menon the expectations have touched the sky. With ‘Anjaan’ touted as a action entertainer, we can be assured of Lingusamy’s words coming true if we have a look at the profile of the director which includes super hit action films like ‘Run’, ‘Paiya’ and ‘Vettai’. His out and out action flick ‘Bheema’ starring Vikram was also appreciated for his power packed content despite the film not doing wonders at the box office.
Star cast
Coming to the lead actor Suriya, we do not require words to establish his versatility as an actor. His list of films and their successes will do the talking. This time it will be double treat for Suriya’s fans since the actor plays dual roles after ‘Maatran’ that released in 2012. It is certain that the actor plays Mumbai underworld don ‘Raju Bhai’ while the makers have preferred to keep the other role as a secret.
Samantha the young and energetic actress has paired up with Suriya for the first time. Its every heroine’s dream to act with Suriya and Samantha has claimed that she is the actor’s fan right from ‘Kakha Kakha’ days. So it’s a case of a fan getting to act with her favourite star. Suriya has always shared a good chemistry with all of his heroines and the stills that have released so far prove that Samantha will be no exception to this rule. Given Lingusamy’s ability to include cute interludes of romance in action flicks, we can expect some breezy romance as a respite from action sequences.
Action films do not get fulfilled without antagonists. This film has a powerful actor Manoj Bajpai playing the lead villain role. There are many other Mumbai based actors including Dhilip Tahil playing negative roles in the film. Vidyut Jamwal who played the villain of Ajith in ‘Billa II’ and Vijay in ‘Thuppakki’ is acting with Suriya this time. However his role in ‘Anjaan’ is kept as a secret and we have to wait and watch to know whether he is the friend or foe of Suriyaa in the film.
Soori joins with Suriya for ths first time in this film. The actor’s inclusion assures that we can expect some comic treat also.
Technical Team
‘Sandakozhi’, ‘Paiyya’ and ‘Vettai’ all the albums that have come from Yuvan Shankar Raja for Lingusamy directed flicks have included a right mix of songs that cater to all kinds of audience. ‘Anjaan’ audio that will be available within a month is expected to follow the fashion.
Cinematographer Santhosh Sivan who has teamed up with the director for the first time will be adding the punch required for action entertainers and we just have to look at ‘Thuppakki’, the lensman’s latest outing in Tamil to know how significant will be his contribution for an action flick like ‘Anjaan’.

The film is being produced by Lingusamy’s Thirrupathi Brothers, a banner that can be associated with some of the commercially successful as well as award winning films of the recent times. The project also has the financial backing of UTV Motion Pictures identified as experts in marketing a film mainly in social media to create the buzz among youngsters who are the target audience of any film.
