It was back in the year 2018, actor Dileep had announced a movie titled Parakkum Pappan, directed by debutante Viyan Vishnu. The movie was touted to be the first ever superhero movie in Malayalam. However, Tovino Thomas's superhero movie 'Minnal Murali' helmed by Basil Joseph, which was announced later became the first ever superhero movie in Malayalam. With the script penned by Rafi, Parakkum Pappan revolved around a local superhero flick. Though the team has unveiled the first look poster of the movie back then, there had been no updates on the project that is produced jointly by Dileep’s Graand Productions and Carnival Motion Pictures.

The latest that we hear is the makers are trying to revive the project. According to the latest buzz, the makers have roped in Kollywood's hit-maker music director Anirudh Ravichander for the upcoming project. If at all, the reports turn out to be true, this will mark his Malayalam debut. It may be remembered that earlier Anirudh had lent his vocals for a Tamil song in Alphonse Puthren’s blockbuster movie ‘Premam’. For now, let's wait for an official announcement.

Meanwhile, Dileep continues to work in films unfazed by the criminal charges he has been facing in connection with the actress abduction and assault case. The Ernakulam Additional Special Sessions Court on Tuesday dismissed its petition seeking to cancel the bail granted to the actor, who is the eighth accused in the actress abduction and sexual assault case dating back to 2017.
