Well known editor and closet of late Shanker Nag – Anil Malnad brother of Jagadish Malnad passed away at his Chennai residence on Monday.
A very sensitive editor Anil Malnad commenced his innings from ‘Arivu’ Kannada cinema produced by actress Padma Kumuta. He received national award for his Telugu film ‘Sithara’ and Aalaapana’. According to reports, Anil passed away at 7.45 am today morning. His final ritual is taking place on Tuesday.
. He won 32 awards from his 200 films as editor. He is also got Nandi award from Andhra Pradesh. He was recognized more in Tamil and Telugu films. He had his stint in Konkani, Tulu, Bangali language films.
Anil Malnad was born in Gadde Hosmane, Bilakoppa village, Koppa Taluk of Chickmagalaru district. His earlier name was Dattatreya. He entered Chennai (earlier Madras) at the age of 17 to do a cinematography course but joined direction course. He was with Bapu in the initial days working for ‘Sampoorna Ramayana’.
He was 65 years leaves behind his family and well wishers.
