Anil Kapoor: The Marathon Man

  • IndiaGlitz, [Saturday,July 01 2006]

Anil Kapoor is a perfectionist. In reel as well as real life. These days he is busy playing the role of the housekeeper as wife Sunita is away with daughter Sonam on location for her debut flick ‘Saawariya’ directed by the one-n-only Sanjay Leela Bhansali. He wakes up at 5.30 a.m. and it takes half an hour for him to convince his son Hersh to get out of the bed. While the eleven year old gets ready to go to school, Anil has to run after him with an omelette. Once he is off to school, a sense of accomplishment sets in. “It’s almost like wrapping up a movie,” Kapoor says.

Anil is a nervous wreck these days as he wants his daughter Sonam to live up to Sanjay Bhansali’s ‘Great Expectations’. But playing a doting dad doesn't mean that he has washed his hands off films. He has just signed a film called ‘Shortcut: The Con is On’ directed by debutante Roshan Andrews and it has been written by his favorite Anees Bazmee. Besides this he is also doing Bazmee’s ‘Welcome’ and Nikhil Advani’s ‘Salaam-e-ishq’. Putting his paternal feelings aside, Kapoor is excitedly looking forward to working with Mallika Sherawat (With whom he shared a small role in ‘Darna Zaroori Hai’) in ‘Welcome’. Anil Kapoor is also eagerly looking forward to his debut production ‘Mahatma Versus Gandhi’ (Which has been completed recently) where Akshay Khanna is co-starring with him.

IndiaGlitz salutes the spirit of this Giant Actor who continues to surprise with his refreshing performances and never-say-never attitude.
