If Anil Kapoor was widely criticised for his five minute role in 'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol', there was even worse fate reserved for Irrfan Khan who has just been seen in 'The Amazing Spider-Man'.

With a screen time that has lasted even lesser than that of Kapoor, it has also kick-started yet another debate in the social networking around the way some of the top Indian talent continues to be treated in Hollywood blockbusters.

A prominent editor comments, "Just what exactly was Irrfan Khan doing in the film? Propagating the stereotype that Indians will only get fringe two bit roles?"

This was pretty much in continuation to the sentiments that many had shared when Anil Kapoor didn't impress many after being taken for a ride in 'Mission: Impossible'.

However unlike Kapoor who went to the town declaring his 'small yet significant' role in the film Irrfan largely stayed away from making any such bold declarations. Perhaps he was well aware of the 'thankless part' he was playing in the film, as commented by an avid film observer.

A die hard fan commented, "Irrfan Khan's role in the new Spiderman movie is as pivotal as one of the test tubes in the film."

While this indeed has been bad news for Bollywood imports who have tried to make it big out there in West, the development has also opened a Pandora's box about infamous rivalry between Anil Kapoor and Irrfan Khan that had accentuated years ago during the days of 'Chocolate'.

Though they swore never to work together again with each other, a filmmaker (who is obviously close to Kapoor) didn't want to lose his chance when it came to taking a dig.

He said, "Anil Kapoor may not have had a lengthy role but he was at least entertaining.

Wish I could say the same about Irrfan who can now be termed as Mac Irrfan. Remember how Mac Mohan got a raw deal in 'Sholay' as 'Saambha'? Now we can well call Irrfan as Hollywood's 'Sambha'."

Meanwhile there are some supporters too who have come out in Irrfan's defence.

"At least he got an opportunity to play the architect of all the mayhem in the film. Also, don't forget that he is all set to return as a main villain in the film's sequel. There should be more of him then."
