Recently, a young girl named Lavanya died by suicide in Tamil Nadu, reportedly because of foul play. Since then, calls for justice for Lavanya have been made on social media. However, some Netizens have been mistakenly using the hashtag #lavanyatripathi in their campaigns. A Twitter troll said that Lavanya Tripathi is an actress and not someone who has done any sacrifice for Dharma. "Don't compare the victim Lavanya with the cheap actresses," a troll wrote.
This has had the 'Andala Rakshasi' and 'A1 Express' actress upset, considering that it's crass to use the adjective 'cheap' for a profession like acting. In an angry tweet, Lavanya asked men to start respecting women all the time, instead of doing it only when a woman is victimized.
"Why do men like you start respecting women only when something horrible happens and otherwise call them cheap? Learn to respect everyone! An extremely unfortunate incident, but this is the reality of our society," the 'Arjun Suravaram' actress wrote.
Lavanya's supporters are saying that patriarchal mindsets have to die.
Why do men like you start respecting women when something horrible happens, before that they call them cheap.. Learn to respect everyone!
