Legendary music director AR Rahman is upset with the remix of his chartbuster 'Masakali' from 'Delhi-6' (Hindi). Made as a romantic, raunchy song and titled 'Masakli 2.0', the remix has come to be trolled heavily on social media. Since it is his original that has been corrupted, Rahman is totally unhappy.
On Wednesday, Tips Music released the remix version featuring Siddharth Malhotra and Tara Sutaria, only to receive poor reviews from music lovers. Taking to Twitter, Rahman came at the strong strongly: "No short cuts, properly commissioned, sleepless nights, writes and re-writes. Over 200 musicians, 365 days of creative brainstorming with the aim to produce music that can last generations," he wrote.
He added, "A team of a Director, a Composer and a Lyricist supported by actors, dance directors and a relentless film crew. Lots of love and prayers - A.R. Rahman”
Delhi-6's director Rakeysh Mehra, too, took a dig. "#Masakali #Delhi6 Created with love & passion an iconic song that has to be preserved. Beware of the re- mix it will damage your eardrums," the 'Rang De Basanti' director tweeted out.
