Angling for an award

These days you rarely have actresses talk about winning awards. Most of them are shrewd and practical to understand that film business is just that --- a business.

So most of them come act, show glamour and vanish from the scene.

Seldom they go make noises about laurels and awards.

Yet, even in the existing scheme of things, there may be times when there is a stray thought about winning at least one award. One such time has come about for Shriya, Tollywood's pin-up girl.

She has been emboldened to think on those lines as because her role in Sada Mee Sevalo is such.

Produced by S P Entertainments and directed by Neelakanta, who had made award-winning Show and Missamma, the film offers Shriya a plump role.

As it happens, Shriya landed herself the role as Rakshita, originally planned for the film, was found too plumpy.

Shriya plays a simple straightforward girl in the film. It is a simple role, and as she says all truly great things in life are simple.

Neelakanta was instrumental in Bhumika getting the Nandi for Missamma.

So Shriya is naturally hopeful.
