Actress Sindhu, who played an important character in Vasanthabalan's cult classic movie 'Angadi Theru' passed away at her Valasaravakkam residence in Chennai. She was 44 and breathed her last at around 2.15 am today after a prolonged battle with breast cancer.
Sindhu's last video is heartrending as she requested mercy killing unable to bear the pain of the advanced stage of the dreaded disease. Actors Kottachi and 'Angadi Theru' Pandi are among those who paid tributes to her on social media. Her last rites are expected to be held at the Virugambakkam crematorioum on August 7th.
Sindhu hailing from an impoverished background acted as a child in a few movies before gaining fame through 'Angadi Theru' and 'Nadodigal'. Her life was said to have been filled with tragedies including being the victim of child marriage and teen pregnancy. She has stated in many interviews regarding her pain to bring up her daughter as a single mother and being cheated by her family and friends of her earnings.
Sindhu was known for her social service during natural calamities such as the Chennai Floods in 2015 and the coronovirus pandemic. However cancer struck and she was pushed to the stage of seeking financial assistance from celebrities. RIP!
