The world has seen many advancements in science and technology and education has also grown in leaps and bounds. But the one thing that has not changed much is the barbaric sex crimes that are meted out to women especially by the rich and famous. Singer Andy Anokye who under the name Solo 45 performed with the British grime band Boy Better Know has been sentenced to 24 years in prison for torture and rape.
There were 30 charges over a period of two years in which he was found to have raped 21 women. He is said to have taken the women to his house started role-playing a cop, imprisoned them and then indulged in various tortures like interrogating, waterboarding, assaulting and finally raping them and filming the entire episode.
Anokye did not deny any of the charges to the Bristol court but said that the women knew that he would be playing a game that he called "Catch me, Rape me" and all of it was consensual.
The jury was shown graphic video clips that showed a woman crying and saying "I hate you", and Anokye laughing and showing a thumbs-up sign to the camera. Other perversions included forcing one woman to lie in a bath of freezing cold water, holding a shotgun to the head of another, holding a cloth covered in bleach to yet another woman's face, He admitted that he suffered from dacryphilia - sexual arousal from tears.
Judge William Hart while sentencing him via video conferencing told Anokye "You "no sexual boundaries or empathy for those concerned and had become addicted to the perverted pleasure. You have a background that includes gang associations and criminal violence. Your convictions have deprived you of that career but the fault is yours alone
