A Romanian court has decided to release Andrew Tate, the known social media influence awaiting trial on human trafficking charges, from house arrest. Instead, he has been placed under judicial control, a less restrictive measure. The court's ruling stated that house arrest would be replaced by judicial control from August 4 until October 2.

Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan, who hold both US and British citizenship, were charged in June, along with two Romanian female suspects, for human trafficking, rape, and forming a criminal gang to exploit women. All the suspects have denied these allegations.

Under the new measure, the four defendants are allowed to leave the house but not Bucharest and the surrounding Ilfov County. They must regularly check in with the police and are prohibited from approaching the alleged victims.

Romania's anti-organized crime agency accused them of forming a criminal group to commit human trafficking in Romania, the US, and Britain. The agency stated that seven female victims were misled and transported to Romania, where they faced sexual exploitation and physical violence.

In a separate lawsuit, Andrew and his brother sued a Florida woman for falsely accusing them of imprisoning her in Romania, leading to their arrest on human trafficking charges.

In the UK, four British women have joined a civil claim against Andrew Tate, alleging they were victims of sexual and physical assault by him. They intend to pursue legal proceedings against the social media personality. None of the claims have been proved yet.
