I lost my family member - Yuzvendra Chahal on Andrew Symonds passing away

The cricketing world and fans alike woke up to the shocking news that former Australian all rounder Andrew Symonds passed away. The 46 year old on Saturday night around was involved in a single car accident that he was riding which toppled fatally injuring him. The incident happened very near his house in Townville in Australia. He is survived by his wife Laura and two young children, Chloe and Billy.

Symbonds was one of the biggest hitters who ever played for Australia and at the same time was a useful bowler who had the knack of picking wickets at crucial junctures with his righ arm medium pace. He represented Australia in 198 ODIs, 26 Tests, and 14 T20Is. He played for the Mumbai Indians and Deccan Charges in the IPL from 2008 - 2011 making an impact.

Many cricketers have been posting their condolences to Symonds with Indian leggie Yuzvendra Chahal going one step further calling him family. He wrote in his tribute on twitter "Today I have lost my closest man.You were just not a colleague
My family, my man My symonds uncle ❤️ I will miss you terribly RIP ??????".

Harbhajan Singh who was involved in the infamous "Monkeygate" controversy during the Border-Gavaskar trophy in Australia in 2008 wrote "Shocked to hear about the sudden demise of Andrew Symonds. Gone too soon. Heartfelt condolences to the family and friends. Prayers for the departed soul ??"

Symonds had accused Bhajji of a racist slur calling him a monkey during the match which the latter denied. After playing together for the Mumbai Indians the duo reconciled and remained friends.
