The State of Andhra Pradesh has got a new set of unlock rules, which will come into effect starting July 1. The government has decided to relax the curfew in eight districts. The curfew will not be in force till 9 PM. From 9 PM to 6 AM, a night curfew will be imposed.
The above rule doesn't apply to five districts: East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Chittoor and Prakasam will retain the curfew hours from 6 PM to 6 AM in view of the high positivity rate in the districts. These are the districts with a test positivity rate of above 5 percent.
In short, for most of the districts, curfew hours have been relaxed by three hours. This comes as a relief for businessmen. The relaxation hours apply to Anantapur, Kurnool, Guntur, Vijayanagaram, Vizag, Kadapa, Nellore, and Srikakulam.
The above rules will apply till July 7.
June has been a good month for AP relatively after a virulent May, when the State saw more than 5.71 lakh coronavirus cases. The TPR was 25.56 percent on May 16, which was the worst figure registered by the State since the start of the pandemic.
