A 33-year-old man reportedly watched the popular TV reality show Bigg Boss and Hollywood film Avatar while doctors performed a brain surgery on him.
The man, identified as Vara Prasad, had his open brain surgery performed at a private hospital in Andhra Pradesh's Guntur. He apparently had to be kept awake through the course of the surgery and hence he was made to watch Bigg Boss and the 2009 Hollywood blockbuster film Avatar. The operation, conducted by three medical professionals, reportedly aimed to remove recurrent glioma from his left premotor area abutting the mortal cortex. The patient apparently went through a similar surgery in 2016, which was unsuccessful. However, things went well this time around.
Dr BH Srinivas Reddy, Dr Seshadri Sekhar (neurosurgeons), and Dr Trinadh (Anaesthetist) of the Government General Hospital of Guntur performed the surgery on Vara Prasad, who was discharged from the hospital on Saturday following recovery.
