In a tragic incident, yet another life has been lost to the online mobile game PUBG as a result of the negative impact it has had on young adults, most of whom find themselves seriously addicted to the game.

A 16-year-old boy from Andhra Pradesh passed away after playing PUBG continuously for hours, skipping his meals as well in the process. The boy, who was residing in the Jujjulakunta village in Dwaraka Tirumala mandal of the West Godavari district was staying at home due to the nationwide lockdown and spent almost all of his time playing the battle royale. Owing to starvation and dehydration, he apparently even fell unconscious a couple of times. The boy's parents then rushed him to a hospital where he died a few hours later. This is not the first time an incident such as this one is being reported as a second year textile designing student at a private polytechnic college in Tamil Nadu's Kumarapalayam died after playing PUBG continuously for two days.

PUBG is an online battle royale game that gained traction soon after its PC and Xbox One launch and became a sensation when the game was released on iOS and Android devices. It is one of the most successful and highly addictive games that is popular among young adults across the globe right now, with nearly 175 million downloads across devices in the country.
