Prashanth a contemporary of Thala Ajith and Thalapathy Vijay during the nineties was the most sought-after leading man in South Indian cinema who also had a huge market in Hindi films. Even though he has not had a hit movie in the recent past his fan base is still intact and his multitalented is well respected.
Prashanth's comeback movie 'Andhagan' has gone on floors from today which is the Tamil remake of the sleeper hit Hindi film 'Andhadhun'. Prashanth is playing the lead character portrayed by Ayushman Khurana in the original while Simran replaces Tabu. Navarasa Nayagan Karthik will be seen in the important role of Simran's husband and to him too this is a sort of a comeback.
Yogi Babu, Urvashi, K.S. Ravikumar, Vanitha Vijayakumar, Manobala, Poovaiyar and Leela Samson play other important characters in 'Andhagan'.
When 'Andhagan' was first announced Mohan Raja was at the helm but several months later Fredrick JJ who made his debut with Jyothika's 'Ponmagal Vandhaal' replaced him. But now there is yet another major change and Prashanth's dad Thiagarajan who is producing the film is now in charge of direction as well.
