As per the reports from Tollywood circles, Andhadhun remake to be directed by Merlapaka Gandhi is facing issues with the casting. While Nithiin will be seen in the lead actor, Ayushmann Khurrana's role, they are facing trouble to Telugu "Tabu", it seems.

When the makers approached original actress, Tabu, she quoted high remuneration to act in the same role, she already did it seems. The makers thought film subject is not that Telugu audience friendly to spend so much.

They have a restricted budget and making it for Nithiin to prove his acting abilities than in the hope scoring a 50 or 60 crores hit at least, in current situation. Well, they approached Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Ramyakrishnan, Ileana to star in the role that Tabu aced in the original film, till date, as per the multiple sources.

But they did not agree. Ileana D'Cruz asked the heroine role and Ramyakrishnan is busy with projects. Shilpa Shetty had her reasons, it seems. Hence, the makers are unable to find the perfect casting for the Telugu version.

They believe movie is a goldmine if OTT will become the future, provided executed well enough. Hence, they want to complete it fast but the casting has become a huge headache, now.
