For a film that is all about making you laugh, Andala Ramudu has seen plenty of tears.

The happy movie was delayed for a long time because of the problems of the heroine Arthi Agarwal. The buxom girl met with an accident and suffered severe head injuries. The unit hands just twiddled their thumbs and bided their time as the heroine recuperated in the distant US.

After her recovery, she flew down and completed the shoot, and the film is now almost complete.

Directed by Deepthi (P Lakshmi Narayana), Andala Ramudu marks the debut of comedian Sunil as a hero. The story, a remake of the Tamil hit Sundara Purushan, is about an innocent but obsessed lover man. He goes to any extent to marry the girl of his choice. Using a ruse, he unhinges her love with another man, and marries her. But after his marriage, the man cannot consummate simply because of a ‘guilt conscience’.

In a sense, it is a serious story told in a light fashion. With Sunil as a hero, the movie has to be hilarious.

The film’s audio is set for release in a few days (16 July). S A Rajkumar has composed the tunes.

Mega Super Good Films has produced the movie.
