Remaking super hit films is never easy. A lot of comparisons arise and if the remake falls a little short of expectations, the film will turnout as a disaster. A lot of directors have experienced this before.
Sekhar Kammula has proved himself as a sensible director with his previous films and for the first time in his career, he has chosen to remake a film. That too, a much critically acclaimed Bollywood film like 'Kahaani'. He has titled the film as 'Anaamika' and has roped in Nayantara to reprise Vidya Balan's role in this movie. Harsha Vardhan Rane and Vaibhav have played the crucial roles.
The story revolves around a woman (Nayantara) searching for her missing husband (Harshavardhan Rane) in the Old City in Hyderabad. A cop (Vaibhav) helps the woman in her search. The movie is said to have many twists and turns in it and is touted to be a thriller.
Famous writer Yandamuri Veerendranath has assisted Sekhar Kammula in writing the script of this film.
Viacom 18, Identity motion pictures and Logline pictures have ventured into the south for the first time to produce this film. The movie was censored with a U/A certificate and it is all set for a grand release on May 1st. The movie is a big hit in Bollywood and let's see how 'Anaamika' will be received by the Telugu audiences.
