An unlikely partnership in 'Life Partner'

In what promises to be a laugh-till-you-drop movie of the year, writer cum director Rumi Jaffrey has paired Govinda, Tusshar Kapoor and Fareen Khan in 'Life Partner'. The film is being publicized as a romantic comedy that takes a look at the various perspectives of marriage.

The three actors, known for their flawless comedic timing, will each be essaying a character that has a particular take on how marriage should be and doesn’t budge from it. Where Govinda’s character is a Casanova with no faith in marriage, Tusshar’s character swears by arranged marriages. Fardeen, on the other hand believes all marriages made in heaven are love marriages. While comedy is the mainstay of the film, Jaffrey’s associates have revealed that there’s plenty of emotions and drama to go around.

Prachi Desai, who shot to fame with Farhan Akhtar’s Rock on, has been paired with Tusshar. She plays a simple Gujarati girl. The bubbly Genelia D’Souza has been cast opposite Fardeen, but Govinda’s partner in the movie is being kept strictly under wraps.

The movie, produced by Abbas-Mustan, was shot extensively in SA and was expected to hit theatres around 1st May. But the producer vs. Multiplexes scuffle over revenue-sharing has pushed the release date to sometime in July.
