We all talk about elderly people and the lack of empathy in society, towards them. We try to say that government has to do something to control any kind of harm that they go through and give them financial aid. But is that enough?

An elderly woman had to drag even old woman - her mother on a coat miles to bank in Orissa to get physical verification done for Jandhan Yojana account. The government has given them money to survive in the form of pension, they have a place to live - however good or bad. But did they find dignity and empathy?

Did Government or system do anything or asked people in administration to show no empathy at all? We all are trying to blame someone. The Odisha Government suspended the bank officer and asked bank to take legal action against him.

Is that enough? We all are sons and daughters of someone. We may not be able to show similar kind of love or respect to every person. But we can at the least act with respect that self-moral conduct asks us to follow, can't we?

As some are calling that the system shouldn't have been so strict even with elderly people, how can restrict fraud then? System will always have rules and regulations, it is people who need to show empathy towards others.
