The first look of the lead characters played by Manju Warrier and Murali Gopy in the movie Aami` has been released. Manju Warrier who essays the role of Kamala Surayya looks pitch perfect in the picture along with actor Murali Gopy who essays the role of Kamala Surayya's husband Madhavadas in the biopic. While, the previous pictures featured the retro look of the lead characters, in this latest picture the couple is seen in their old age version.

Vidya Balan, the Bollywood actress was the initial choice for the role of Kamala Surayya in Aami, but the actress backed out from the project at the last minute, due to undisclosed reasons. Later her role was replaced by Manju Warrier. Scripted by director Kamal himself, 'Aami' also stars Prithviraj and Anoop Menon in the other key roles. Being produced by P T Rafel and Roban Rocha on a budget of 5 Crores, Aami has music by M Jayachandran and Thoufeeq Quershi.
