New Zeland women's captain and allrounder Amy Satterthwaite has announced that she is pregnant with her first child and taking an indefinite break from cricket. Her wife Lea Tahuhu the pace spearhead of the team will, however, continue playing but is delighted about the new arrival in early 2020.
Amy has shared the news on social media posting "Lea and I are thrilled to share that I am expecting our first child early in the new year. Words cannot describe how excited we are about this new chapter #babysatterhuhu #jan2020".
Satterthwaite and Tahuhu fell in love while playing for New Zealand and are one of the first same sex couples to publicly come out and get married in the cricketing world. Wishes have started pouring in for the talented couple from all quarters.
