ZEE5, India’s largest creator of Originals across languages and genres, has made an interesting announcement. Its Telugu-language Original 'Amrutham Dvithiyam' will start streaming on March 25.
Pooduced by Gangaraju Gunnam of Amrutham serial fame and Lightbox Media, this one is billed to grab eyeballs.
"The Original sees the return of Harshavardhan, Sivannarayana, Vasu Inturi, and Ragini in their old roles. LB Sriram joins the cast as Anji and Satyakrishna plays Amrutham’s wife. Kasi Viswanath, Raghava round out the cast of the show which will premiere on Ugadi," the makers say.
The popularity of Amrutham on TV has been phenomenal:
Amrutham, the sitcom, started out in 2001. Sarring Sivaji Raja, Naresh, Harshavardhan, and Gundu Hanumatha Rao, it told the story of two friends, Amrutham and Anji, who come up with creative ideas to improve their restaurant business and get rich but fail with hilarious consequences every single time. Sarvam, their loyal but loco Man Friday, and Appaji, their rapacious landlord, contributed famously to their comedy of errors and also became extremely popular characters.
Over the years, the sitcom has been aired repeatedly on different TV channels to a highly encouraging reception.
Now after 13 years, the show is back as 'Amrutham Dvithiyam'.
