The hype and hoopla created by this film 'Amrutha Dhaare' just because of the guest appearance of icon of Indian cinema Amitabh Bachchan is a neatly made film for the family. But that does not mean there are no bottlenecks in the film. For the sake of creating fun senior director Nagathihalli applying the tactics he uses for television is some what boring. The crux of the story is ancient but its presentation especially in the second half is convincing.

Puru and Amrutha are always quarrel each other for petty things in their married life. For Amrutha her first husband she presumes is Amitabh Bachchan. On the issue of having a baby first or house first the cute couple quarrel seriously. Puru sweat out to construct a beautiful house for Amrutha and says why he was illiberal in life so far. It is at the celebration of the new house Amrutha falls sick. She is affected with brain cancer the doctors declare. Puru decline to divulge this fact to Amrutha and instead of losing heart he goes to get all the happiness for Amrutha. He brings her to Mumbai and places her before the icon Amitabha Bachchan, takes her to various exotic places. When Puru is in front of Buddha idol begging for Amrutha back to normalcy this comes to the notice of Amrutha. Soon in Agra in front of the Taj Mahal the dearest couple in tensed up situation. What happens later is a tragedy.

It is a most sensible performance from Ramya. She carries the film on her shoulders throughout from her cantankerous behavior, lively screen presence and ability to emote. Dhyan is superb. He with Ramya - made for each other couple on screen. The message of Amitabh Bachchan - three years of meaningful life is important than 100 years of meaningless existence is really 100 years old statement. Nevertheless one should love to live in future instead of thinking about death explained by Amitabh Bachchan is noteworthy. The comedy in the film is not up to the mark. The songs and lyrics are of high standards. Mano Murthy is surely going to hit a hat trick. His earlier two films for Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar - America America and Nanna Preethiya Hudugi songs are household. He has carved three lovely tunes here. Mane katti Nodu will be very touching for the middle class. Giliyu Panjaradalli Illa. sung by C.Aswath is meaningful and very rightly selected by the director for the situation.

With Krishnakumar the ace cameraman of Kannada cinema the film is beautiful on the screen. The travelogue Kanyakumari to Kashmir in the second half is a treat to watch.

The film also worth watching once!
