Association of Malayalam Move artists (AMMA) and the State Women's commission has openly come out to support Shwetha Menon, who is reported to have been assaulted by a popular congress leader of the state. While AMMA president Innocent has offered her every support on the issue, the state Vanitha Commission made it clear that they will register a case and will go on with the proceedings, though the actress hasn't yet officially given a written complaint.

The State C M Oomen Chandy has also asked the collector to report about the issue. Though the collector maintains that Shwetha hasn't given any complaint and that she appeared very happy, Shwetha replies that she maintained her calm not to dissuade the spirit of the event on which she was appearing.
