Even her political rivals and critics will admit that Dr.J.Jayalalitha is more efficient in curbing the crime rate of the state with iron hands and the effective implementation of various welfare schemes during her regimes has benefited crores and crores of people of Tamil Nadu.
It is for given that Law and Order will be strictly maintained whenever Jaya is ruling the state. But no one would have expected that it will remain intact even during her death.
The death of such charismatic politicians has always lead to violence across the state. That is what exactly happened when Jayalalitha's political mentor and former Chief Minister Puratchi Thalaivar M.G.Ramachandran passed away on December 24, 1987.
Though December proves to be the black month for the state and ADMK party, December 2016 did not see the repeat of December 87 as far as state's tranquility is concerned.
Thanks to the effective planning and implementation of the Government and Police department officials, the law and order situation remained intact even on the day of death of the leader who commands the unselfish love and admiration of crores and crores of people.
Likewise all the shops and hotels across the state were shut as a mark of mourning the death of the CM. But the Amma Unavagams (Government's food outlets offering food items at a very low cast) kept functioning even today and fulfilled the hunger of thousands of people .
Amma Unavagam launched by Jayalalitha during her previous tenure (2011-2016) as a CM is one of the most appreciated and effective welfare scheme implemented by her and the model has also been followed in other states of India.
Indeen ADMK Government as well as the members have paid the best tribute to their leader.
