Whatever the media might say about the rift between actor Amitabh Bachchan and veteran director Prakash Mehra, now that the filmmaker is ill, Amitabh was among the first to visit him. Mehra's health went into a decline after his wife fell into a coma that lasted a few years. Later after the death of his wife, the filmmaker's condition worsened. He's currently in the ICU and on ventilator because of his failing lungs and an infection.

Mehra and Bachchan collaborated on Zanjeer, Sharaabi, Namak Halaal, Laawaris, Muqaddar Ka Sikandar before their fall out after the flop movie Jaadugar. When questioned about their strained relationship, Amitabh chose to focus on Mehra's illness and the fond memories they shared.

Amitabh reveals that though Mehra couldn't talk much because of the ventilator that has been attached through his trachea, he smiled. The legendary actor was all praise for Mehra and called him a consummate storyteller with a flair for everything from dialogues to lyrics. Here's hoping the filmmaker recovers soon!
