Bollywood thrives on remakes. Since they have better marketing value and an already developed fanbase, remakes are the easy cash grab opportunities for filmmakers. Rumors are going on about the recent Hollywood classic, 'The Intern' getting an Hindi adaption. The project was originally conceptualized with Deepika Padukone and Rishi Kapoor. They were gonna play the characters originally played by Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro.
However, the project came to a standstill after the untimely demise of Rishi Kapoor. According to latest developments, the project is getting back on track with Amitabh Bachchan replacing the late actor. A source told Bollywood Hungama, "The Hindi remake of The Intern hit a massive roadblock with the demise of Rishi Kapoor. This suddenly meant that the venture was missing a crucial member of the cast, and the makers had to re-analyze the casting. Though it has taken a while, the makers of The Intern remake have now locked Amitabh Bachchan for the project and are looking to resume the shoot soon."
Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika have previously worked together on 'Piku' and their chemistry and banter was loved by all. It'd be interesting to see what else they can do this time.
