Legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan recently issued an apology to Prabhas’ fans ahead of the release of "Kalki 2898 AD." During a chat with Prabhas, Amitabh preemptively apologized for his character's upcoming clash with the Telugu superstar in the film. Amitabh plays Ashwatthama, who faces off against Prabhas' Bhairava.
In a new video shared by Vyjayanthi Network, producers Priyanka Dutt and Swapna Dutt, along with Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan, discussed the Nag Ashwin-directed film. Recalling his first meeting with the director, Amitabh shared his thoughts and offered an apology to Prabhas' fans.
“When Nagi came to talk to me about this, he just brought a picture, a visual of what my character is going to look like and what Prabhas is going to look like. And I was this huge guy who’s shoving off ‘THE’ Prabhas. And all the fans of Prabhas, please, you know, please excuse me. Main haath jod ke maafi maang raha hoon, don’t massacre me after you see what I do,” Amitabh said.
Prabhas reassured him, saying, “They are all your fans too.” Amitabh continued, “That was so impressive. I said, ‘He’s already got a vision in mind, he’s got a picture of what he’s going to look like. Very rarely do you see that.'”
At a recent press conference in Mumbai, Amitabh expressed his amazement at the concept of "Kalki 2898 AD." “When Nag Ashwin came and explained his idea to me, for a long time after he left I was thinking, ‘what the hell is Nagi drinking?’” Amitabh joked, causing laughter among his co-stars.
He added, “To see something like this which is absolutely outrageous, some of the visuals that you have seen are unbelievable. To have somebody conceive a project which is so futuristic and possible… and during the making of the film you realize that no matter what he thought of, he actually brought all the material, all the effects, every kind of vision that he had to the screen and that’s been really amazing. For me to be just a part of it, has been an experience I’ll never forget.”
