Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday visited Hyderabad to campaign ahead of the GHMC elections. After landing at the Begumpet Airport, the BJP leader prayed at the Bhagyalakshmi Temple in Old City. Posting pics from his temple visit, Shah tweeted that he had prayed for the prosperity of the people of Telangana.
During his roadshow, Shah spoke to a national TV channel and exuded confidence in Hyderabad getting a BJP mayor. "I believe the winds of change have reached Telangana and Hyderabad is the next step," Shah told Republic TV.
As per the BJP, the roadshow on Sunday covered three Lok Sabha seats of Hyderabad, Secunderabad and Malkajgiri. "It is the biggest push to unseat TRS and reduce the influence of AIMIM in the state," tweeted National Spokesperson Amit Malviya.
Addressing a rally, he urged Hyderabadis to reject minority appeasement politics. He was indirectly hitting out at the TRS.
