Kishore Kumar is one of the finest playback singer that Bollywood has ever had. He delivered dozens of timeless songs over his long and illustrious career and now his family has decided to celebrate his talent and take his legacy even further by making a movie about him. Kishore Kumar's sons Amit and Sumit and his wife Leena Chandavarkar have announced their plans for a biopic.

Previously, filmmakers like Anurag Basu and Shoojit Sircar tried to make a biopic on the late singer but their plans didn't materialise. Amit Kumar said, "It was always my intention that we do the biopic. After all who knows him (Kishore Kumar) better than his family?”

Amit also revealed that team is about to start filming the interview of family memebers about his father and he added, “We know that the script will take at least a year to develop. It’s a lot of hard work, and a long journey ahead.”

Amit Kumar made headlines a few weeks ago when he appeared as a guest on Indian Idol's Kishore Kumar special episode. He criticised the quality and stated that the contestants were sub-par.
