Amrita Rao certainly has a face that looks very Indian and also has a tinge of innocence to it. This may be why Chandrprakash Dwivedi, the director of the forthcoming period film 'The Legend Of Kunala' said yes to Jaya Bachchan when she recommended Amrita's name.

Amrita has been selected to play the important character of princess Kanchanmala who was the wife of King Kunala, son of Emperor Asoka. The actress says that her role which is that of a pure and calm girl will prove to be a turning point in her career.

Amrita seems to be fully confident about the film turning out to be a winner. And why not, as it is quite natural for high hopes to evolve when some facts abut the film are considered.

First of all Amitabh Bachchan is to play the role of Emperor Ashoka. According to some reports Arjun Rampal will most probably play the role of King Kunala. The highly selective Tabu will be giving life to the role of the Emperor's wife.

As the film's story centers on King Kunala, Amrita who plays his wife might also have a good share of the screen time. It is not often that an actress is able to grab a good role in a period film having a bunch of the most acclaimed actors. The film is to be produced by the now revived production company Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Limited (ABCL) which would like to start the second innings with noting less than a blockbuster.

As for now Amrita busy. She is getting equipped for her role and is going through books about the rule of Emperor Ashoka and the life that prevailed in ancient India.

Wish you luck, Amirta!
