The counting day has been quite a roller-coaster. In the initial hours, when postal ballots were being counted, the BJP led the scene with massive leads over the TRS. MIM and Congress were almost at naught. As the day progressed and ballot papers started to be counted, the scene got reversed. The ruling TRS started showing massive leads and the saffron party started trailing badly.
And, by evening, the BJP started closing the gap with the TRS. At the time of writing, the KCR sena looks unlikely to win a comfortable majority.
On her part, however, Kavitha is confident that the TRS will have its own Mayor. "I believe BJP numbers will further decline and heavy support for TRS will surface. We will have our mayor and do public works uninterrupted," she was quoted as saying by ANI.
Observers, however, think that the MIM will arm-twist the TRS and get a Mayor's seat in return for support. If the BJP wins 40 seats or thereabouts, it will be a massive change.
