American pop star Madonna recently revealed that she tested positive for the coronavirus antibodies on her Instagram page.
Sharing the news in the 14th edition of her Quarantine Diary on Instagram, Madonna had stated, "Took a test the other day and I found out that I have the antibodies. So tomorrow, I am just going to go for a long drive in the car, and I'm gonna roll down the window and I'm gonna breathe in the Covid-19 air. Yup. I hope the sun is shining." According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), US, antibody tests are used to determine whether or not a person has been exposed to Covid-19 by finding proteins the body produces to fight the virus. "CDC scientists are conducting studies to better understand the level of antibodies needed for protection, the duration of that protection, and the factors associated with whether a person develops a protective antibody response," CDC's website states.
Madonna has reportedly donated $1 million to the Gates Philanthropy Partners' COVID-19 Therapeutics Accelerator. "I send enormous gratitude and strength to the courageous first responders, medical professionals and scientists who are protecting our communities, those suffering and our most vulnerable," the singer had mentioned in a statement on her website.
