American singer Halsey took to Instagram to announce that she is expecting her first child with boyfriend Alev Aydin. The singer revealed the news sharing three stunning pictures exposing her baby bump.

Captioning the three photographs "Surprise," Halsey also tagged her boyfriend Aydin in the post. Commenting on the post, Aydin wrote, "Heart so full, I love you, sweetness." Halsey responded to his comment right away. "I love you! And I love this mini human already!" she wrote. Halsey had previously suffered a miscarriage and she also developed a health condition called endometriosis, for which she reportedly underwent surgery in 2017. The 26-year-old singer talked about the same in an interview with Rolling Stone in 2019, and said that surgery happened to be the right option for her. "I was like, 'Wait, what did you just say? Did you just say I can have kids?' It was like the reverse of finding out you have a terminal illness. I called my mom, crying. Never mind. I don't need to put out a third album. I'm just going to have a baby," Halsey mentioned in the interview. 

In another interview in 2020, the singer talked about her miscarriage. "Here I am achieving this out-of-control life, and I can't do the one thing I'm biologically put on this earth to do. Then I have to go onstage and be this sex symbol of femininity and empowerment? It is demoralising," she had said. Halsey is the recipient of four Billboard Music Awards, one American Music Award, one GLAAD Media Award, an MTV Video Music Award, and two Grammy Award nominations. Several celebrities, including Hailey Bieber, Sophie Turner, Joe Jonas, Niall Horan, Gigi Hadid, Zendaya, and Shawn Mendes, congratulated the couple.
