The demise of producer Ashok Kumar over the pressure from his financier has put the entire film fraternity in a state of shock. Many celebrities are voicing out against this grave incident and the need to curb usury with iron hands.

Director Ameer stated that the producer took the extreme step as one of the upcoming movies of his production company was stalled which was due release this month end. He also said that a case has been filed against financier Anbuchezhian under the section 306 of which he has a copy.

Ameer also strongly impressed upon the fact that case should’ve been actually filed under section 302 as it is ‘murder’. The director also noted that Ashok was actually paying his dues regularly. Stating that the film industry will be shut down if such atrocities persist, he also demanded such usury issues to be curbed immediately by the concerned authorities.
