Ambulance drivers have always been noted for their dedication and hard work considering the responsibility that they have in transporting people to hospitals during dire health emergencies. One such example is Kerala’s ambulance driver Thamim who helped save a month- old child’s delicate life.
In a truly heroic effort, Thamim transported the child from Kannur to Thiruvananthapuram (about 518 km) in just under seven hours which would normally otherwise take a solid 14 hours. Fathima Labia, one month old child was taken from Kannur’s Pariyaaram Medical College to SRI Chitra Mission Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram as she was immediately to undergo an emergency heart surgery.
Fathima was suffering from continuous breathlessness throughout the week and since air ambulance wasn’t an option since the nearest airport was atleast three hours away, the job was handed to Thamim which he seems to have nailed it saving the child’s life.
Appreciation and congratulatory messages have been pouring in for the ambulance driver from all corners for his heroic act.
