Mobile mortuary used for distilling arrack; Ambulance driver arrested

Owing to the lockdown, liquor shops across the state have been closed for over 2 weeks now. With the increasing demand for liquor, an ambulance driver and his assistant distilled arrack inside the mobile mortuary. The incident happened in Adoor, Kerala.
The accused have been identified as Abdul Razaq (driver) and Anees (aide). Police got the information of the illegal act and so they visited the house of the accused, who were caught red-handed with all the equipment. The police seized the solution, 10-liter arrack, and all the equipment used. Reportedly, the duo illegally stored the fermented solution inside the mobile mortuary, which was also seized.
According to the police, charcoal and batteries were used in the distillation process. Police say that the duo was earlier involved in smuggling cannabis under the guise of an ambulance.
