Indian batsman and part time off break bowler Ambati Rayudu has been suspended by the ICC from bowling in international cricket. Rayudu,33, had been under the radar since January 13, after suspected bowling action during the first ODI against Australia in Sydney.
Rayudu had bowled just 2 overs in the match, conceding 13 runs, and was also dismissed for a duck, as the first ODI was won by Australia by 34 runs. The series which India had won 2-1 wasn't fruitful for the batsman, as he scored only 24 runs in the second ODI, and was dropped in the decider.
Currently a part of the Indian team in New Zealand as a part of the 5 match ODI series, he has been suspended with immediate effect as per ICC regulations clause 4.2, and will remain suspended till he's given a clearance after a test. Despite this suspension, Rayudu can still bowl in domestic tournaments as per article 11.5 of BCCI regulations, provided BCCI gives consent.
