Ambati Rayudu has made a sudden decision to retire from all forms of cricket shocking fans and cricket followers. Sports analysts are of the opinion that the decision was taken by the stylish right-handed middle-order batsman due to the BCCI snubbing him by sending Mayank Agarwal to England instead of him to replace the injured Vijay Shankar in the ongoing World Cup 2019.
The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) in 2018 made the statement "This is to inform that Ambati Rayudu, Hyderabad captain and member of the India ODI team, has decided to retire from longer version of the game including Ranji Trophy (multi-day) to focus on limited overs cricket and T20 cricket," In the longer format he had played 97 games scoring 6151 runs with 16 tons and in a career that spanned 17 years.
In the international arena playing for India in the ODIs, Rayudu has played 55 matches scoring 1694 runs hitting 3 centuries and 10 half centuries with the highest score of 124. Meanwhile the Iceland Cricket board has offered Rayudu a visa to play for their country and have posted "Agarwal has three professional wickets at 72.33 so at least @RayuduAmbati can put away his 3D glasses now. He will only need normal glasses to read the document we have prepared for him. Come join us Ambati. We love Rayudu things."
