India’s e-commerce industry is a booming one several leading sites in the field. The latest news is that Amazon may make an offer to buy Flipkart, while the latter is in tie-up talks with Walmart. Reportedly, Walmart was said to buy 55% of the company through primary and secondary shares that might get Flipkart a valuation of over $20 Billion.
However, e-commerce giant Amazon has held exploratory talks considering to buy Flipkart and offer a rival bid for the same. If it happens, Amazon may well be on the way to online monopoly in the country. Flipkart dominates about 40 % of the country’s online market. It is also worth mentioning here that Flipkart was founded by former employees of Amazon Sachin Bansal and Binny Bansal in the year 2007.
