'Putham Pudhu Kaalai' was a Tamil anthology web film that streamed on Amazon Prime Video during the first wave of the COVID pandemic in 2020. Now, the streaming giant has launched the trailer of the anthology's upcoming second instalment titled 'Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadhaa'.
Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadhaa will be an ensemble of five heartwarming tales like the first part. This anthology is helmed by some of the leading names of Tamil cinema: Balaji Mohan, Halitha Shameem, Madhumita, Richard Anthony and Surya Krishnan. The film is set to stream on Amazon Prime on January 14 in more than 240 regions worldwide.
While the first part focused on how people adapted to the initial stages of lockdown and reinvented the bond with their families, the second instalment now covers the stories of people trying to discover normalcy and live their lives in peace in the middle of the pandemic. The anthology is set against the backdrop of the second wave of the Covid 19.
Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadhaa will comprise five episodes as follows - Mugakavasa Mutham, Loners, Mouname Paarvayaai, Nizhal Tharum Idham, The Mask. 'Mugakavasa Mutham' is directed by Balaji Mohan features Gouri Kishan and TeeJay Arunasalam. Madhumitha is directing 'Mouname Paarvayaai' and it stars Nadiya Moidu and Joju George.
Lijomol Jose of 'Jai Bhim' fame and Arjun Das starrer 'Loners' is directed by 'Sillu Karuppatti' fame Halitha Shameem. While Richard Antony directorial episode is titled 'Nizhal Tharum Idham' starring Aishwarya Lekshmi and Nirmal Pillai, The Mask is directed by Surya Krishna with Sananth and Dhilip Subbarayan in the lead roles.
