The incessant rains that have pounded Kerala has caused unprecedented flooding submerging several districts of the state forcing lakhs of people who have lost their homes taking refuge in relief camps. Many celebrities from South Indian cinema including Suriya, Allu Arvind, Karthi, Vijay Sethupathi, Dhanush, Sivakarthikeyan, Nayanthara and others have donated generously to the Chief Minster's Relief Fund.

Actress Amala Paul along with her family members personally visited the relief camps and distributed essentials to the affected people. The pretty actress has one hand on a sling as she tore a ligament while filming a risky action sequence for her film 'Adho Antha Paravai Pola'. Amala's effort is even more laudable since she has braved her physical pain and discomfort for the people of her home state.
