Amala Paul has come a long way from her 'Mynaa' days and is now taking on bold roles as the one in 'Aadai' directed by Rathnakumar and her upcoming 'Adho Andha Paravai Pola' in which she is doing full-fledged action. Amala was married to A.L. Vijay but divorced three years back and the director has remarried. Vijay's father A.L. Azhagappan had stated in an interview recently that Amala had agreed not to pursue acting after marriage but Dhanush signed her for his 'Amma Kanakku' and later 'VIP 2' which was the main reason for the divorce.

Amala Paul in a recent interview to a leading Tamil daily has slammed the news reports that it is improper to blame someone else for a divorce and that she took the decision herself. She further stated that Dhanush is her well-wisher and friend does not want to talk anything further about her split that happened long ago.

On the professional front Amala has signed on to play the lead role in the biopic of the late Bollywood actress Parveen Babi to be directed by Mahesh Bhatt.
