Amala Paul denies temple entry, Netizens disagree with her

Earlier this week, actress Amala Paul was denied permission to visit Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva temple in Kerala's Ernakulam district for a darshan citing 'Hindu norms' by the authorities. The actress described the issue as an instance of religious discrimination.

Netizens are in disagreement with the 'Iddarammayilatho' actress. Dr. Shah tweeted saying that a Mandir premises is not a picnic spot. "The outer city can have a tourism economy around it. Amala Paul needs to go to a Mandir where the traditions allow non-Hindus in. Certain Mandirs where the traditions do not allow, you simply got to follow that," he added.

Another Netizen asked the actress to convert to Hinduism if she wants to pray at certain temples. "She was denied entry into the temple because she is a practicing Christian. Temples are not secular places, if you want darshan, do Ghar wapsi. Simple," he wrote.

However, many others came out in support of Amala, saying that she should have been allowed entry. But the fact remains that many temples in India don't let non-Hindus who don't have declared faith in Hindu Gods in.
